Building a Greener Future: How Sika Colombia enhances Stormwater Management with Stormbrixx

At the SIKA Plant in Cali, Colombia, ACO Colombia successfully delivered an advanced stormwater management solution using the ACO Stormbrixx system. This project, completed in September 2024 within just 14 days, addressed the challenge of buffering stormwater flows before discharge into the city’s sewer network.

Working closely with GEODÍAZ Engineering and the commercial and technical teams at ACO Colombia, a 97 m³ underground retention tank was installed. The tank was waterproofed using a geomembrane, allowing for the reuse of captured rainwater in garden irrigation and cleaning of the facility’s social areas.

Despite weather challenges and a high water table during construction, the modular StormBrixx system enabled quick installation, cost savings, and minimal environmental disruption. This innovative solution not only prevents urban flooding and reduces the load on public infrastructure but also highlights ACO’s commitment to sustainable water management.

This reference stands as a testament to how smart engineering and environmentally conscious design can work hand-in-hand to create lasting value.
